Should you ditch cable/satellite for streaming services?

A lot of modern homes are facing an important dilemma when choosing services to provide for their guests. Should you elect to cut the cord, and offer streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, or stay with the tradition mainstay of cable or satellite? The reasons for choosing each bring up many valid points

To argue in favor of streaming services, they allow your guests to pick what they want to watch and when. Hulu even offers live sports now, which had been a big knock against streaming in the past. Along with this choice, there is the price point as well. Streaming service subscriptions tend to cost less than the service of cable or satellite. This is often a point where hosts can cut some costs in order to save some money.

On the other side of the spectrum, streaming can be hard for the less “tech-savvy” to figure out. Traditional options such as cable allow the guest to access familiar channels where they know what they are getting. It can be a convoluted multi-step process to get those same channels on a streaming service, and may require you to have a cable subscription regardless.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal choice. To avoid either option from being inconvenient for your guests, make sure to have detailed instructions in your welcome packet to ensure that any confusion is avoided.
